🌟 Meet Lavanya Gopal, a community theater actress, playwright and, most recently, an award-winning Off- Broadway performer, who is proudly bringing South Asian cultural humor onto the stage. @artist.lavanyagopal

Gopal recently got the opportunity to perform her comedic one-woman show, "Like, Share & Subscribe!" on Nov. 16, 2024 in NYC and received United Solo's "Best NYC Debut" award.

"Like, Share & Subscribe!" centers an Indian couple; the husband is a life coach and a "stickler" for perfection but has a funny side to him while his wife is more vibrant and feisty, who tries to become an overnight sensation in the online beauty community bringing chaos into their lives.

Issues of overcrowding and inefficient resources h

Issues of overcrowding and inefficient resources have become a daily struggle for some students in the Jersey City public schools.

Dickinson High School has over 2,000 students and sometimes finds themselves with insufficient material for classroom learning, making it difficult for some students to keep up with schoolwork as freshman Jenalise Rivera points out.

“We do 95% of our school work online. We don’t do a lot of our work on pencil and paper,” Rivera said. “But if we have Wi-Fi issues or chromebook issues, we can’t study, we can’t finish our work before the due date.”

Krystal Madan has opened up her dream dance studio in Kearny “where every beat welcomes every body” no matter their age, size or dance level background.

The studio offers dance styles like ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, flamenco, contemporary and acrobatics.

But besides learning dancing skills, the Hudson County native is hoping her students will also learn how to love themselves and how to express themselves freely.
