A couple of weeks ago we met @loretoh.art, a local painter and muralist! Loretoh, who sells original paintings, prints and stickers, created a live painting with the help of the community that day ✨

Repurposing & decontextualization ♻

Buttered Roll @butteredroll unveiled his new solo show “Bolivareando: Similar, Not the Same” which depicts Simón Bolívar, el Libertador, in ways people may have never thought of before.

On Friday, the @smushgallery space was filled with dozens of attendees who admired Buttered Roll’s work like Simón Bolívar at the laundromat and Bolívar defending a thesis 🧺📝

The Colombian-born painter and poet told Slice of Culture that this exhibit resonates with him because of his personal history. He also shared his love for Hudson County artists 🖼️

His show is up until Oct. 13 at 340 Summit Avenue in Jersey City!

Entrepreneur and quadriplegic athlete, Aaron Baker, is “pedaling with a purpose” across six continents with his Adversity Into Adventure World Tour. 🚲

The tour, which is heading to the east coast in a couple of months, is intended to encourage people to ride, walk or roll across the world connecting with other Diverse-Abled individuals to inspire, educate and fundraise to further help the organization continue their mission of helping Diverse-Abled people accomplish a high quality of life.

Did you hear?? NJ Transit rides will be FREE starting on Monday, Aug. 26‼️

@govmurphy announced the “transit fare holiday” which will run for one week from Aug. 26 to Sept. 2. Murphy said the free period is to thank commuters but also to make amends for all the summer disruptions.

“As we work diligently with Amtrak to investigate and address the issues that have occurred this summer, especially on the Northeast Corridor, we hope this fare holiday offers our commuters some relief. We also encourage New Jerseyans to take advantage of this opportunity, and we continue to be thankful to the many New Jerseyans who depend on public transit,” Murphy said in a statement.
