Basically,
Culture is an umbrella term — it covers arts, foods and way of life.

2021 & 2023 NEW JERSEY SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS CONTEST
This award goes to the print weekly or local website that does the best, most comprehensive job covering the community which it serves. It is meant to honor the best in grassroots journalism, meaning publications, whether in print or online, that cover local communities exclusively.
Awards were given for first, second and third place. Slice of Culture won first place.
In 2023, two Slice of Culture members won awards in first place and second place.
2022 & 2023 NEW JERSEY CIVIC INFORMATION CONSORTIUM GRANT
The New Jersey Civic Information Consortium awarded $990,000 in grants to innovative local news and information programs around the state as part of the organization’s second round of funding.
Slice of Culture is the first grantee in Hudson County and Jersey City. SOC was regranted in 2023 for $100,000.
