From boxing to basketball, there’s lots of sports opportunities in Hudson County to help you stay active this summer!

As summer continues to roll through, here’s an update on local [Hudson County] high school sports and available local sports programs.
With warm weather fully coming around, Hudson County is launching more recreational opportunities and we’ve caught up on the latest with Saint Peter’s Prep athletics in this Hudson County news round up!
“… [As a kid] nobody wanted to be my partner… so that was really tough. [But] now you’ll have all girls wrestling practices, which is so cool. We’ll just have little girls beating up on the boys anyway, which is awesome too.”
“By using soccer as a means to build stronger connections and a stronger community, we strive to create a vibrant and supportive network of players who share our passion for the game,” he told Slice of Culture.
“In the suburbs, they coined the term, soccer-moms. A soccer-mom is a mom with a mini-van that picks up all the kids and takes them to practice. We don’t have that in Jersey City,” retired police captain and coach Frank Williams told Slice of Culture.
Coaching isn’t always easy but Dominique Ocello, who is in her eighth year of coaching high school varsity sports, has an approach that has proven successful. Ocello, or as her students call her “Coach O,” joined Memorial High School last year as the head coach of the boy’s soccer team.
Coming into the draft, he was touted as one of the best prospects of all time. He stands at a staggering 7’5, which would make him one of the tallest players currently in the NBA.
The Nuggets were founded in 1967, and have made it to the semi-finals four times, but up until this year they had never made it to the finals.
