Bayonne has made a sports facility just for youth who are physically challenged.

- Two ADA playgrounds
- Picnic areas
- Improved handicap access
The Field of Dreams is home to the Division of Recreation’s special needs sports program, soccer academy and special needs baseball program, or better known as the Buddy Baseball League.

The “Field of Dreams” was designed for “ensuring [those with special needs] enjoy the full benefits of baseball and softball in an athletic environment structured to their specific abilities.”
The Buddy Baseball League started its 10th season this past Saturday. It first started in 2015 and is a program for the youth who are developmentally and physically challenged in Bayonne.
“We are very excited about this new chapter of Special Needs Sports & Recreation. The Field of Dreams will be a safe place, where children and adults with special needs can truly enjoy a recreational facility,” said Superintendent of Recreation for the City of Bayonne Pete Amadeo.
“We will always ensure a safe and welcoming environment. We look forward to seeing many smiling faces for years to come.”
The facility will be open for Bayonne residents only and a membership, which is limited to those with special needs and their families only, will be required.
You can also become a member if you:
