“We also want to start a conversation about the state of the print news industry- and the news industry in general- as well the rise of artificial intelligence in journalism and its contribution to the situation here in Hudson County,” former writer for The Hudson Reporter said.
“I grew up in an era where people were trying to make my choices for my life. And so now I fight to be a voice for everyone, to make a choice for their life,” the council president said.
“Jersey City is indeed experiencing the effects of gentrification. Economic investment, rising property value, demographic shifts, improved amenities and the displacement of low-income residents are all contributing factors,” Pagan said.
Just last week, Spider-Man 2, which turned 20 years old this year, was the second highest-grossing movie at the North American box office, topping even the newest releases in theaters.
Liberty Humane Society sheltered Jersey City’s cats and dogs for nearly 20 years at its Boulevard location until the city took over management this year.
“When we opened Paloma, that was one of our focuses, ‘Ok, how can we do stuff differently for ourselves and our staff, and what can we provide for the community?’” Hughes said.
The city plans a Loew’s Alley closure for up to two years while renovating the historic building. Residents are concerned it will cause increased commute times.

Mario Costa, owner of the diner which has been open since 1946, says he’s thrilled to have his business chosen for Bob Dylan’s biopic. “Oh I love it,” Costa told Slice of Culture. “It’s history, you know? … and it’s good for the diner. We’ve been here forever.”
