PATH Announces Yet Another Fare Increase
The NJ Port Authority has announced that the PATH’s one-way fare will increase from $3.00 to $3.25 per ride and from $1.50 to $1.60 for the Reduced Fare Program starting Monday, May 4.
This increase comes a little over a year after a single-use ride increased from $2.75 to $3 in January 2025. The $0.25 increase was previously authorized by the Port Authority Board of Commissioners back in December 2025.
In a press release statement, the fare increase is set to “help bear the cost of rebuilding an aging rail system, providing much-improved service and stations and offering customers a faster, safer, and more reliable ride.”
Starting May 17, the seven-day service on all four PATH lines will return for the first time in nearly 25 years. This means riders will now have direct service from Hoboken to World Trade Center (WTC) and between Journal Square (JSQ) and 33rd Street.
There will also be multi-trip discounts available with TAPP.
