Sweating. Anxious. Afraid.
That’s how Cecilia Revan-Hernandez used to wake up in the middle of the night, shaken by a flood of thoughts: “Am I going to be evicted?”, “Will I be homeless?”, “Will I have enough to eat?” She dreamt big during those tough nights. Today, that same fire fuels the mission behind Wealth Healer, her financial planning firm.
Revan-Hernandez told Slice of Culture that her upbringing shaped the purpose and creation of Wealth Healer. Founded in 2019, the firm now works closely with entrepreneurs to help them feel “calm and confident” about their finances while building practices of growth, empowerment and the desire to break generational cycles.
“Community is everything. That’s where most of my career has focused, and I understand that talking about money or our wellbeing can bring shame or make us feel like we don’t have a place to hold those conversations,” she told Slice of Culture, “But that is part of my work.”
“How do we come together to not feel ashamed to go after our dreams? To be perhaps the first person in our families or in our friend groups to step into this path [of financial empowerment] and knowing that we can lean on that community.”
Before opening her own firm, Revan-Hernandez had to start at square one: figuring out her own journey.
“I would have never imagined that I would be in this career. I always thought I was going to be teaching and in the classroom,” she said. “[But] I do understand that in a lot of ways, that’s what I’m doing now.”

“… I now help entrepreneurs move from survival mode to sustainable success by understanding their numbers, creating systems that support clarity and developing a healthier relationship with money.”
Growing up with eviction, homelessness and food insecurity, Revan Hernandez said her upbringing pushed her toward a career in finance and accounting. She always wanted “to make it,” as she described, and provide for her family.
When she learned she would graduate college and be able to support her loved ones, it felt “transformative.” For the first time, she felt she would be okay.
Revan-Hernandez graduated from New York University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and is completing her certificate in financial planning. She is a first-generation college graduate.
Today, shaped by her lived experiences and driven by her mission to guide individuals and entrepreneurs toward financial clarity, she is the founder and CEO of Wealth Healer.
“When I would wake up in the middle of the night, sweating [and] anxious, thinking that I was one step away from being evicted or homeless, or not having enough to eat… that’s when I became very curious on how our upbringing really impacts how we show up today. That’s the work that I do with the founders and the individuals that we work with.”

Questions often explored include: “How are your financial habits and mindset showing up in your business?”, “Are you avoiding your bank account?” and “How is your upbringing influencing your decisions today?”
Through Wealth Healer, entrepreneurs and individuals can receive support with bookkeeping, financial strategy and tax planning. The personalized services and expert-led experiences that individuals and companies can receive include:
- Fractional CFO Services
- Personal Financial Planning
- Financial Wellness Workshops
- Speaking Engagements
Each offering blends money psychology, financial literacy and community building with an accountability partner.
“Most of our conversations are not actually about money. Yes, we review your accounting, we do your tax strategy, but what ends up coming up is the mind blocks. How are you showing up in your business?” Revan-Hernandez said.
She recalls a recent conversation with a founder whose revenue grew more than 30 percent year over year. “One of their questions was, ‘Should I continue to scale?’ Those conversations are tied to the numbers, but also to the life you want to build. That is where the real transformation happens.”

Since launching Wealth Healer with devotion and purpose, Revan-Hernandez has led workshops both virtually and in-person at New York University, Howard University, American Express Global Business Travel and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
She believes Wealth Healer can be a person’s first step toward finding the community and confidence needed to reach any goal.

“Wealth Healer can be that conversation starter. Whether it’s in a group, whether it’s one-on-one. [Wealth Healer] is vulnerable, but also a safe space,” she said.
