Giving Tuesday is Dec. 2.
The global generosity movement, which always falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, has become an annual initiative intended to promote generosity by lending a helping hand or donating to a cause.
Whether it’s $1, a share, repost or donation, you can make a lasting impact in your community.
Here are some Hudson County organizations you can support.
Team Wilderness
Team Wilderness is a non-profit organization bridging the nature gap for urban youth and youth in marginalized communities. The organization helps expose Hudson County kids to wilderness excursions which provides a positive impact and helps them expand teamwork, leadership and character skills.
A donation to Team Wilderness can support outdoor afterschool programs like:
- Compass Project (academic coaching)
- Wilderness Club (outdoor-inspired education)
- Photography Club (nature photography lessons)
You can learn more about Team Wilderness here.
Guttenberg Arts
Guttenberg Arts is a community-based organization, based in North Hudson, helping artists grow and thrive in New Jersey. A donation can help them continue providing opportunities for local artists of all ages and backgrounds through:
- Accessible Programming
- Classes
- Exhibitions
- Residencies
You can support Guttenberg Arts by attending a fundraising show, donating supplies, becoming a member or simply following along their mission and visiting their space.

Selin’s Whisper
Selin’s Whisper was founded to provide art scholarships to senior high school students in memory of local resident, Selin, who was passionate about the arts, and tragically lost her life to suicide in 2024. Since its start, they’ve been able to award three Selin Alexandra Legacy Scholarships, host art healing workshops, write three children books and create a social/emotional curriculum to help children ages four to six navigate emotions at a young age.
A donation can help Selin’s Whisper continue providing:
- Art Scholarships
- Mental Health Awareness
- Suicide Prevention Awareness

Peace Care
A donation to Peace Care, a short-term and long-term nursing home facility, allows them to continue providing the best care possible to residents and patients. A donation can help Peace Care continue to provide a quality life to the “underserved population” and help fund:
- Daily extracurricular activities like Bingo, painting, gardening and music shows.
- Pay for residents’ new equipment—like wheelchairs or rehab machines
- Infrastructure upkeeps like windows and their new masonry

Giving back to your community doesn’t have to just be on Giving Tuesday. You can continue to support your community throughout the year and show up in different ways.
