Get Free English Classes In Jersey City
Vroom Street Church is offering free English classes.
Classes will start on Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and will continue this fall, every Tuesday at Vroom Street Church. Classes are completely free, however students must bring $50 for books.
The perks of the classes include:
- Four class levels offered
- Small classes
- Helpful in learning English
Those interested must be at least 18 years old and go through testing and registration, which will be held this Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

NJ Transit’s Office of Business Development is collaborating with the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and offering Construction Management Certificate Program to participants for the Fall of 2026.
The program is designed for professionals in construction and related industries, focusing on hands-on skills that can help participants strengthen their expertise, grow their businesses and advance in the field.

The Hoboken Shelter Needs Paper Products! Donate Today
The Hoboken Shelter serves community members 500 meals a day and their pantry needs help with paper donations.
The shelter is looking for:
- Paper towels
- Disposable bowls
- Disposable cups
- Disposable plates
You can access the shelter’s Amazon Wishlist here or drop off donations daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 300 Bloomfield Street.

Liberty Science Center Is Expanding
Last week, the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City announced that Project Supernova, a $40 million expansion, is set.
New attractions include:
- Kids Corner: a space where goats and children will have playgrounds and supervised interactions
- Physics Mini Golf: an 18-hole miniature golf course designed around scientific principles
Project Supernova also includes River Rising, a 6,600-square-foot exhibition gallery that focuses on climate change and how it affects the region’s marine life and environment. The project will also have a River Otter Habitat that includes both indoor and outdoor viewing areas.
The improved science center is also working on Big Balloon, a 90-foot-high artwork by Argentinian conceptual artist Leandro Erlich and a modernization of the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium.
Project Supernova was partly funded by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s first award under its Cultural Arts Facilities Expansion program and further supported by Dr. Richard Hodosh and other donors.
The project officially began on Sept. 10. It’s unclear when it’ll be complete.
