“I encourage anybody out there as, as you climb, reach back as you get opportunities, work with students and people who wanna come up and show them how to do it. It’s a community thing… I’m so thankful for what Jersey City has given me.”
“I started to write again and attend different open mics. After I had started to organize my own children events and my own community events. I thought to myself I could create a space where many poets will feel welcomed,” said Mocha Mic With Millie.
Text-for-poem is a literary art project created by Benedicto Figueroa that sends a poem to your phone. The project is scheduled to run for nine months.
