Saint Peter’s basketball team started off the year with a win, a Harrison High School student is going to the NFL Pro Bowl flag football showcase team and more in this week’s sports roundup.
Saint Peter’s Peacocks Secures First Win of 2026
Saint Peter’s Men’s basketball team came in hot in the second half of Friday’s game to win against Marist’s Red Foxes.
The Peacocks were down by three at halftime, but outscored the Red Foxes 34-21 in the second half to secure the 69-59 win.
The Peacocks currently sit in second place (4-0) in the MAAC falling behind the Merrimack Warriors who are 5-0.
The Peacocks other MAAC wins came from a thrilling 70-66 victory over the Fairfield Stags, a stunning 71-43 win over the Niagara Purple Eagles and a 69-57 win over the Canisius Golden Griffins.
The Peacocks will look to continue their winning streak on Friday, Jan. 9 against Mount St.Mary’s at 7:00 p.m.
This Harrison High School Student Will Represent Herself At The NFL Pro Bowl

Harrison High School senior Mya De Jesus has been selected to the NFL Pro Bowl flag football showcase team.
De Jesus will play alongside 31 of the best flag football players in the country this February in San Francisco to compete at this year’s NFL Pro Bowl.
De Jesus is a star flag football player and has received eight offers from colleges to continue her athletic career into college.
