After Bayonne’s historic Little League Championship run, they are now selling merch for you to support and show off. merch!
They will be selling hoodies for $50 and t-shirts for $25 this week from Tuesday, Sept. 8 until Thursday, Sept. 10 at 200 W 1st St in Bayonne.

Planned Water Shutdown In Jersey City This Week
Ward E Councilwoman Eleana Little announced on Instagram that there will be a planned water system shutdown between Washington and Steuben Streets from Thursday, Sept 10 at 11 p.m. until Friday, Sept. 11 at 4 a.m.
This will be conducted by the JCMUA and Veolia. Residents and businesses can expect low water pressure or a “temporary” loss of water pressure. There may also be construction noises during overnight work.

Holy Cross Parish in Harrison is having a flea market for local businesses to shop!
The market is on Sept. 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The donation rate is $15 for one table and two chairs.
Tables will be available on:

- Frank E. Rodgers Blvd (front of school sidewalk)

The Incredible Duck Race returns to Kearny and they’re looking for vendors and crafters!
The event will take place on Sept. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Veterans Row with an expected crowd of over 3,000.

Boricua Community Building Center Is Working To Get Safe Water To Puerto Rico
The Boricua Community Building Center is currently creating “Proyecto Agua del Aire en Puerto Rico,” an initiative to place Atmospheric Water Generators at specific community locations in Puerto Rico to provide filtered drinking water to residents during shortages and service interruptions.
The BCBC is currently identifying:
- Potential host sites
- Equipment manufacturers
- Sponsors
- Solar and battery partners
- Transportation providers
- Contractors
- Technical professionals
- Funders and community organizations interested in helping move the first sites forward
Their goal is to develop each site through a mix of donated equipment, existing infrastructure, in-kind services, sponsorships, and community partnerships. BCBC has already put forward the first $5,000 toward the project.

Jersey City Organization Asks For ‘Urgent Community Funding’
Build More Unity, a Jersey City-based community organization, put out a call for emergency funds for a “dear comrade and member of BMU.”
Any donated funds will be used for the member’s family and living expenses after a “period of familial loss,” the Instagram post explained.
“Unfortunately capitalism continues to force us to pay beyond what we are compensated for time and again. This becomes more difficult when dealing with life transitions and familial loss. Please consider donating, even if it is just a little, as this Comrade has regularly poured their all into serving the people.”
Their goal is $2,500. They are accepting donations through Cashapp: $buildmoreunity, Venmo: buildmoreunity or Zelle: DM them for their information.
A Bayonne Clothing Store Is Closing Its Doors After A Century Of Being Open!
Barney Stock Clothing Store located at 499 Broadway in Bayonne is saying goodbye to customers after 100 years of service.
The clothing store had an Everything Must Go closing sale and thanked its employees and customers for their business.
Barneys Stock has been on the Broadway block of Bayonne for a century and residents would line up for hours outside for their quality clothes.
Kearny Fire Pushes Call For Better Resources
Last week, on Sept. 1, a two-alarm fire ran through 4 Kearny Avenue, which members of Kearny FMBA Locals 18 & 218 described as a “serious fire” on a local Facebook group called Kearny Happenings.
The intensity of the fire led the union group to call for more resources, manpower and equipment.
“Unfortunately, tonight’s fire is also a very real example of why adequate fire department staffing matters. During the critical initial stages of this incident, it was clear that the Kearny Fire Department did not have appropriate manpower on scene from the initial assignment. Engine 4 took approximately 15 minutes to arrive, meaning the necessary personnel were not immediately available during the most critical first minutes of a reported structure fire with possible occupants trapped. Those first few minutes matter,” wrote Kearny FMBA Locals 18 & 218.
“Adequate staffing allows firefighters to perform multiple critical functions simultaneously — searching for trapped occupants, advancing hose lines, establishing water supply, forcing entry, placing ladders, ventilating, protecting exposures, maintaining command and accountability, and providing a dedicated rapid intervention capability for firefighters operating inside. When there aren’t enough firefighters, those responsibilities don’t disappear. There are simply fewer people available to accomplish them.”
