The protest — which is one of the many international demonstrations alongside New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Germany — drew thousands, and though the killing of George Floyd did not happen in their country, Calgarians like Fraser and George showed their solidarity with America.

CNN reported on Wednesday that the four former officers involved in Floyd’s arrest, which later led to his death, have been arrested and will be facing charges. Derek Chauvin, the first officer arrested and charged, will now face a second-degree murder instead of a third-degree. The three others are facing aiding and abetting a second-degree murder.
